When we perform facelifts for our Fort Myers patients, each procedure is tailored to suit your individual needs. Dr. Mandraccia will evaluate your personal goals and physical requirements during your initial consultation to ensure your facelift procedure helps you achieve the results you want most.

Viable facelift candidates can use the procedure to minimize signs of aging such as:

  • Drooping or sagging skin
  • Deep creases and lines
  • The appearance of jowls or a 'double chin'

Generally our facelift procedure allows patients to return home on the same day of the surgery, but this is only for recovery purposes. Most patients return to their normal schedule of work and other activities in about 10 to 14 days, with special considerations for more strenuous activities.

During this time, it is important to follow all of Dr. Mandraccia's instructions for facelift recovery, which will be provided well in advance. This will include tips for preparing an ideal recovery space as well as specific details for the days immediately following your procedure.

When you have fully recovered, your scars will be virtually undetectable. The results of our facelift procedure are permanent, but this does not mean your face will not continue to change with time. Most patients enjoy their youthful appearance for 5 to 10 years before seeking additional rejuvenation.

Some patients may want to combine their facelift procedure with other facial surgery procedures for optimal results.

To best maintain your new look, you can speak with Dr. Mandraccia about sun protection and other lifestyle choices during your personal consultation.

If you are Fort Myers or Naples area resident and you think a facelift might be right for you, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at (855) 686-4747 today to schedule a personal consultation with our Fort Myers plastic surgeon.

Many Fort Myers women opt for breast augmentation procedures due to changes in the appearance of their chest after pregnancy. While breast augmentation can often correct these pregnancy-related changes, it is not a permanent solution, particularly if you intend to have more children.

If you have not ruled out future pregnancies but you wish to undergo breast augmentation, it's important to understand the full impact of doing so, including both dispelling any unwarranted concerns and being aware of potentially undesirable effects.

Some things to consider for women undergoing breast augmentation with the possibility of future pregnancies:

  • While the integrity of your breast implants will not be affected by pregnancy, the size and shape of your breasts will change, and you may need additional breast surgery.
  • Depending on the amount of stretching that occurs during your pregnancy, you may need a breast lift to maintain your results.

The good news is that with the right breast augmentation customizations, you should be able to breast feed normally without any substantial difficulties.

To avoid complications, Dr. Mandraccia may recommend:

  • Sub-muscular implant placement to prevent compression of milk ducts
  • Avoiding periareolar incisions that have the potential to reduce nipple sensitivity

If you plan on additional pregnancies but you still want to undergo breast augmentation beforehand, you will need to discuss this openly with Dr. Mandraccia to be sure the procedure is right for you and your body.

If you are a potentially a mother-to-be in the Fort Myers, Florida area and you think breast augmentation might be the right choice for you, please contact Dr. Robert V. Mandraccia, MD at (855) 686-4747 today.

As we age, our skin can make us appear older than we really are.  If you are unhappy with how your facial features have changed over time, you may be a facelift candidate.

Depending on your personal aesthetic goals, Dr. Mandraccia may also recommend combining your facelift with other procedures including:

The best way to determine your facelift candidacy is to receive a personal assessment from our Fort Myers plastic surgeon, but generally, potential candidates should consider the following:

  • Your overall health - Ideal candidates should be generally healthy and free of any major medical conditions.
  • The elasticity of your skin - If you have more flexible skin you may have better results.
  • Your bone structure - A well-defined facial bone structure can provide better support for facial alterations.
  • Your age - Most facelift patients are between 40 and 60 years of age, but both younger and older patients (whether 30 years or 80 years of age) are easily accommodated.
  • The potential results - Facelifts are intended to give you a more youthful appearance, helping you look and feel like a younger version of yourself. A facelift does not stop the aging process and it is not designed to fundamentally change your appearance.

If you live in the Fort Myers or Naples area and you would like to find out if you are a facelift candidate, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at (855) 686-4747 today to schedule your consultation.

The great thing about having your breast augmentation procedure performed at an accredited surgery facility like Dr. Mandraccia's is that you can improve your appearance without compromising your health or your lifestyle. With a careful assessment from our Fort Myers plastic surgeon, even the most athletic women should be able to enjoy the benefits of a breast augmentation without having to sacrifice physical activity.

For the average woman, most of your breast augmentation options will have little impact on how restricted your normal routine will become, and generally you should be able to participate in all of your favorite activities.

For athletic women who regularly participate in strenuous physical activity, you will need to give careful consideration to your breast implants regarding:

  • Breast implant size: Depending on the type of activities you do and how strenuously you perform, it might be advisable to choose a more moderate increase in your breast size so you can continue your activities without experiencing back pain, chest discomfort or other issues.
  • Breast implant placement: The placement of your implants not only effects the appearance of your breasts, but it will also impact your recovery time and how the implant responds to certain types of physical activities, such as body-building.

You should also keep in mind that during the immediate recovery period, your exercise routine will be limited to very light activity until Dr. Mandraccia advises otherwise. Fortunately in some cases, you may be encouraged to exercise in order to facilitate the healing process. Dr. Mandraccia can address any specific concerns about your personal work-out regimen or any other breast augmentation questions during your consultation.

Breast Augmentation Incision Options ModelWith Dr. Mandraccia, your breast augmentation procedure will always be performed with your needs in mind. Because each patient is unique, it's important for your procedure to be customized according to your individual goals. One option you will have is the location of your breast augmentation incision.

At Dr. Mandraccia's office, our Ft. Myers plastic surgeon can help you determine which incision option is right for your aesthetic needs.

There are different benefits and limitations associated with each breast incision option:

  • Incision around the nipple (periariolar) - Produces a less obvious scar but is generally too small for silicone breast implants.
  • Incision under the breast (inframammary) - Produces an inconspicuous scar under the fold of the breast and can accommodate both silicone and saline breast implants.
  • Armpit incision (transaxillary) - Though there won't be any breast scarring, the transaxillary scar can be harder to hide and will limit your breast augmentation options to saline implants.

In order to achieve the results you want most, it's important to understand the advantages and limitations of each incision option. The incision location for your breast augmentation procedure will have a significant impact on your overall experience.

To learn more about your incision options for breast augmentation in Ft. Myers and Naples, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at (855) 686-4747 to schedule a consultation with our experienced plastic surgeon today.

Breast augmentation can be a beneficial procedure for women at any age. While most Fort Myers women who have breast augmentations are between 20 and 50 years old, there are still a significant number of older women who opt for the procedure with successful results.

Because older women tend to have different goals than younger women, it is important to keep an open mind about which procedure is actually right for you and your body.

Fort Myers cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mandraccia can help you determine if breast augmentation is the right choice for you by individually assessing your aesthetic goals and physical needs during your consultation.

Factors Dr. Mandraccia may discuss with you to determine your candidacy:

  • Overall health - Generally, if you are healthy enough to safely undergo a surgical procedure, you will can be a viable candidate for breast augmentation at any age.
  • Aesthetic goals - If your primary goal is to reduce sagging or a downward orientation of the nipples as a result of aging, a breast lift might actually be a more suitable procedure.
  • Skin health - The health of your skin can impact the quality and longevity of your breast augmentation results and can also raise more significant issues in terms of scarring.
  • Mammogram efficacy - Though breast implants have no impact on cancer mortality, they can still reduce the visibility of your breasts during mammogram screenings making detection more difficult

If you live in the Fort Myers, Florida area and you think a breast augmentation might be the right choice for you, please contact Dr. Robert V. Mandraccia, MD at (855) 686-4747 today.

To ensure that your breast augmentation procedure is as comfortable, safe and successful as possible, it's important to plan ahead. Preparing for a breast augmentation procedure can make your surgery and your recovery faster and easier. Fort Myers cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mandraccia will discuss this with you in detail during your consultation and answer any other breast augmentation questions you have, but here are some general guidelines.

Leading up to your breast augmentation:

  • Be clear about when you can resume driving a car, having sex and exercising so you can plan accordingly, including making arrangements for someone to drive you to and from your procedure and to accompany you during the first 24 hours of your recovery.
  • Minimize responsibilities at home and at work by preparing extra food, rescheduling meetings and arranging for childcare to ensure a smooth, comfortable recovery.
  • Fill prescribed medications ahead of time and store them in a convenient location.
  • Eat healthily and avoid alcohol.

24 hours prior to your procedure:

  • Abstain from vigorous exercise.
  • Do not eat or drink anything, including water, after midnight. If you are permitted to take medication the morning of the procedure, take it with a minimal amount of water.
  • Shower the night before your breast augmentation, but refrain from using makeup, moisturizers or deodorants.

Dr. Mandraccia may also ask you to consider additional preparation, that may include:

  • Getting a blood test
  • Adjusting your current medications or taking new ones
  • Refraining from smoking

For some of us, the importance of getting a plastic surgery procedure performed correctly the first time has never been more apparent than it is when we watch E!'s new Botched TV series. The new show features two Beverly Hills surgeons who attempt to help victims of plastic surgery gone extremely wrong.

While the entertainment value of uniboobs and misplaced vaginas continues to shock and awe the viewing audience, it is the health and safety breach that horrifies certified plastic surgeons.

At our Fort Myers plastic surgery center, Dr. Mandraccia and our team of experienced health professionals make your safety and well-being our number one priority. Our double-board certified cosmetic surgeon will provide you with a personal consultation in order to individually assess your physical and mental health as well as your aesthetic goals before proceeding with any surgery. We believe that knowing what to expect is a crucial step to the success of any plastic surgery procedure we perform because sometimes the procedure you think you want isn't actually the procedure you need or even a procedure you are ready for.

While some cosmetic surgeons might want to avoid talking about the risks and complications of various procedures, our team of health professionals will make a concerted effort to educate you about every aspect of the surgical process and any potential consequences involved. Dr. Mandraccia strives to help you understand all of your available options so that you can make an informed decision about your cosmetic surgery procedure.

Of course we do provide our services to help correct botched plastic surgery procedures, but we hope that more patients will take precautions to ensure they choose a board-certified surgeon who can perform the procedure right the first time around. This is always the safest and healthiest option for everyone.

If you would like to learn more about the plastic surgery procedures we offer in Ft. Myers, contact Dr. Robert V Mandraccia MD at (855) 686-4747 to schedule your personal consultation today. We are happy to serve patients in Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero and Fort Myers, Florida.

Despite past debates regarding the safety of silicone breast implants, the FDA continues to stand by its approval with supporting evidence. As it turns out, the previous silicone implant restrictions prior to 2006 were based on unsubstantiated health concerns within the United States, and after many years of on-going research, today they are considered a safe breast implant option in countries around the world.

While silicone breast implants pose no inherent threat, it is still important for potential breast implant candidates to make a well informed decision regarding their surgery. Ft. Myers cosmetic surgeon Dr. Robert Mandraccia can help you decide if breast implants are right for you.

As with any type of surgery, there are always health risks to consider, which is why Dr. Mandraccia makes it his priority to provide you with top of the line care before, during and after your procedure. We will help you prepare for your surgery both physically and mentally, and after we perform the procedure, we will provide you with expert guidance to help you recover as quickly and safely as possible.

Still, it is important to understand that even after a successful procedure is performed and you have recovered, your implants may require more attention in the years to come. Some women can experience complications later on in life depending on their individual circumstances. These are all things that Dr. Mandraccia will discuss with you before your surgery.

If you would like to learn more about breast implants in Ft. Myers, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at 855-686-4747 today to schedule your consultation.

Also known as a rhytidectomy procedure, a facelift is a restorative surgery that helps to tighten, reshape and sculpt aging skin around the face and neck. Many people opt for facelift surgery to target loose, sagging skin, including jowls, and to reduce or eliminate the appearance of deep creases around the eyes, nose or mouth.

If you believe you might benefit from a facelift, our Ft. Myers facial surgeon Dr. Robert Mandraccia has more than 30 years of experience to help you assess your facelift candidacy.

The facelift surgery itself is a performed as a series of incisions above the hairline and can be completed with the use of IV sedation or general anesthesia. The recovery period for a facelift is typically between 10 and 14 days depending on your individual healing abilities. Dr. Mandraccia's surgical methods result in virtually undetectable scarring.

Often times there are a number of other procedures than can be combined with a facelift to maximize the results you want most. These may include:

While facelifts and other rejuvenation procedures do not actually stop the aging process, they can improve visible signs of aging to restore years of youth and beauty to your appearance.

If you are interested in enhancing your appearance with a facelift, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at 855-686-4747 today to schedule a consultation in Ft. Myers, FL.
