FORT MYERS, NAPLES, BONITA SPRINGS, And ESTERO FLORIDA

Tue, 12/16/2014

With the highest temperatures behind us and our short winter fast approaching, now is the perfect time to schedule your tummy tuck in Fort Myers. With Florida's extra-long summer season, it can be difficult to make time for an abdominoplasty without missing out on beach barbeques and pool parties. At the same time, you might be feeling uncomfortable in your bikini and ready to shape up before next year's swimsuit season is in swing.

While most cosmetic surgery patients tend to wait until spring to undergo surgery, winter can actually provide a much more ideal experience.

Though there are no added health benefits for undergoing tummy tucks in winter, it's still a prime opportunity to:

  • Make a discrete recovery - In Fort Myers there is very rarely a time when swimwear is not the preferred casual attire. Instead of trying to keep your body under wraps during the heat waves of spring, you can comfortably hide your post-operative recovery beneath your winter layers without raising any eyebrows.
  • Eliminate temptation - During your tummy tuck recovery, you'll need plenty of rest and will need to be mindful of your wounds. With the colder weather keeping us indoors, you won't have worry about summer's recreational temptations.
  • Avoid the spring rush - Spring is one of the busiest times of year for cosmetic surgery, but in the slower winter season, you'll have more options for scheduling appointments which will make it easier to adjust your plans accordingly.

If you live in the Fort Myers or Naples area and you have been considering a tummy tuck procedure to give you a more toned beach-bod, take advantage of the winter weather and contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia at (855) 686-4747 to schedule your personal consultation today.

Many women who are unhappy with the size or general appearance of their breasts find that breast implants are an ideal solution.

Breast implants might be right for you if:

  • You feel embarrassed by breasts that feel too small
  • The shape or symmetry of your breasts makes you uncomfortable with your appearance
  • Issues with sagging or lost volume over time are making you feel self-conscious
  • You are a mastectomy patient wishing to restore your femininity

Our Fort Myers plastic surgeon has years of experience working with breast augmentation patients, and he can help you make an informed decision about breast implants.

As with any cosmetic surgery procedure, you need to be both physically and mentally prepared. While breast implants are both safe and effective for improving the appearance of your chest, they are not always right for everyone.

In order to be a viable breast implant candidate, you should be:

  • At least 18 years old with fully developed breasts
  • In good overall health and free from any major medical issues
  • Well informed about what breast implant surgery can and cannot accomplish
  • Mentally prepared for the resulting changes with realistic expectations

If for any reason Dr. Mandraccia has concerns about your breast implant candidacy, he will discuss this openly with you during your personal consultation. Your safety is our priority, and it is important to remember that although our procedures offer many benefits and are performed with skillful expertise and the highest quality of care, there are still risks and limitations.

If you live in the Fort Myers or Naples area and you would like to find out if you are a breast implant candidate, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at (855) 686-4747 today to schedule your consultation.

Because a breast augmentation procedure can change not only your perception of yourself, but how your appearance is perceived by others, it's sometimes easy to feel pressured into opting for surgery for the wrong reasons. It's important to recognize that a breast augmentation procedure is about helping you feel comfortable with your body and not about pleasing anyone else.

While Dr. Mandraccia understands how important it can be for a Fort Myers woman to feel confident about herself, as a trained professional and board-certified plastic surgeon he also knows that having realistic goals plays a key role in helping you achieve successful results that will leave you feeling satisfied and happy.

If you simply have an urge to impress others or you hope to gain attention or approval from certain people in your life, ultimately, a breast augmentation might not be the answer you're looking for. In fact, though the surgery itself is incredibly safe and effective, choosing to undergo breast augmentation for the benefit of someone else can be harmful to both your mind and body in the long run.

The reality is that no matter how skillfully Dr. Mandraccia performs your procedure, your expectations may never be met if you have unrealistic aspirations.

The best way to ensure you are a viable breast augmentation candidate is to schedule a personal and confidential consultation with Dr. Mandraccia. Though your friends, family and significant others may have some helpful advice, only a board-certified plastic surgeon is qualified to help you make an informed decision.

If you live in the Fort Myers or Naples, Florida area and you think a breast augmentation might be the right choice for you, please contact Dr. Robert V. Mandraccia at (855) 686-4747 today.

Surgical hair restoration is a cosmetic procedure designed to help men and women in Fort Myers who are unhappy with the appearance and growth of their hair.

At Dr. Mandraccia's cosmetic surgery office, we offer two types of hair restoration. These include:

  • Follicular unit extraction (FUE) - This technique involves removing small units of hair, between 1 and 4 pieces at a time, and transplanting them to the area of treatment to facilitate growth. This process induces less physical trauma to the scalp than other methods and results in more inconspicuous scarring.
  • Platelet rich growth factor (PRGF) hair restoration - This procedure is a more advanced surgical hair restoration method that utilizes the unique components of your blood to naturally stimulate the growth and regeneration of cells. By injecting your own plasma into your scalp in the affected areas, Dr. Mandraccia can facilitate new growth in balding areas.

Both methods of surgical hair restoration are safe and effective. To best determine which method is right for you, Dr. Mandraccia will need to assess your needs and aesthetic goals during your personal consultation.

If you would like to find out more about the cosmetic facial surgery procedures we offer, contact Dr. Robert V. Mandraccia at (855) 686-4747 to schedule a consultation with our experienced Fort Myers plastic surgeon. We also welcome patients in the surrounding areas of Naples and Bonita Springs.

Dr. Mandraccia and his dedicated team of staff have years of experience performing tummy tucks for residents of Fort Myers and surround areas in Florida. To best meet your unique needs, we offer several different types of tummy tuck procedures.

Depending on your aesthetic goals, Dr. Mandraccia may recommend any of the following abdominoplasty methods:

  • An endoscopic tummy tuck - This technique is beneficial if you only need a small amount of loose skin and fatty tissue removed. The incision is typically small and made above the pubic hairline.
  • A mini tummy tuck - For moderate amounts of skin and tissue removal, this method requires an incision around the belly button, but still produces less scarring than traditional tummy tucks.
  • A full tummy tuck - To achieve the best results in cases of significant excess fat and skin in the abdominal region, Dr. Mandraccia will perform a full tummy tuck. Your belly button will be removed to facilitate the tissue removal and then reattached at the end of the procedure.

Each type of tummy tuck procedure is performed under IV sedation in the privacy and safety of Dr. Mandraccia's on-site operating facility.

Dr. Mandraccia will determine which tummy tuck method is right for you during your personal evaluation.

To find out more about how our tummy tuck procedures can improve the shape of your abdomen, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at (855) 686-4747 to schedule a consultation with our experienced Ft. Myers plastic surgeon.

As a woman, a breast augmentation can create significant changes to the way you live your life. In addition to the obvious physical aesthetic improvements to your appearance, many Ft. Myers women experience a number of other subtle yet important emotional benefits that stem from the everyday impact a breast augmentation can have on your lifestyle.

The physical benefits of breast augmentation include:

  • Breasts with increased volume, firmness and fullness
  • More symmetrical breasts
  • Improved, more attractive cleavage
  • More proportional bodily curves

Along with the physical benefits, breast augmentation can also lead to:

  • Increased self-esteem and improved self-image that makes you feel proud of the curves you see in the mirror
  • More enjoyable and comfortable social experiences that no longer make you feel self-conscious
  • Increased confidence during intimacy that can make you feel more empowered and self-assured instead of embarrassed or uncomfortable
  • More pleasurable shopping experiences that come with the freedom to wear new or different styles of clothing

While the physical results are important, the emotional benefits are most often the real reasons for pursuing a breast augmentation.

Depending on your individual needs, you may experience similar benefits from other breast procedures like breast lifts or breast reductions.

To find out how a breast augmentation can change your life for the better, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia at (855) 686-4747 to schedule a consultation with our experienced Ft. Myers plastic surgeon.

While tummy tucks can be beneficial for both men and women in Ft. Myers, abdominoplasty is not a viable option for everyone. Dr. Mandraccia has years of plastic surgery experience, and he knows how to best  determine who may or may not be a viable tummy tuck candidate.

Generally, ideal tummy tuck candidates are for people who:

  • Are already close to their ideal weight - As a sculpting procedure, tummy tucks are not intended to be a weight loss tool
  • Are in a good overall state of health physically and mentally - Health problems may cause complications and unrealistic expectations about what the procedure can accomplish may lead to unsatisfying results
  • Do not intend to have any future pregnancies - Having children after your tummy tuck can reverse the results of your abdominoplasty

For the right candidates, tummy tucks can be a powerful body sculpting procedure that provides dramatic results for both your appearance and your self-esteem, but it's important to make sure it's the right procedure to help you achieve your personal aesthetic and physical goals. Sometimes alternative body contouring procedures might better help you obtain optimal results, so it's important to consider all of your available options.

So although the tummy tuck is a safe, effective and commonly performed procedure, it is still a major surgery, and your candidacy will need to be determined by an experienced plastic surgeon.

To find out more about your tummy tuck candidacy, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia at (855) 686-4747 to schedule a consultation with our experienced Ft. Myers plastic surgeon.

When we perform facelifts for our Fort Myers patients, each procedure is tailored to suit your individual needs. Dr. Mandraccia will evaluate your personal goals and physical requirements during your initial consultation to ensure your facelift procedure helps you achieve the results you want most.

Viable facelift candidates can use the procedure to minimize signs of aging such as:

  • Drooping or sagging skin
  • Deep creases and lines
  • The appearance of jowls or a 'double chin'

Generally our facelift procedure allows patients to return home on the same day of the surgery, but this is only for recovery purposes. Most patients return to their normal schedule of work and other activities in about 10 to 14 days, with special considerations for more strenuous activities.

During this time, it is important to follow all of Dr. Mandraccia's instructions for facelift recovery, which will be provided well in advance. This will include tips for preparing an ideal recovery space as well as specific details for the days immediately following your procedure.

When you have fully recovered, your scars will be virtually undetectable. The results of our facelift procedure are permanent, but this does not mean your face will not continue to change with time. Most patients enjoy their youthful appearance for 5 to 10 years before seeking additional rejuvenation.

Some patients may want to combine their facelift procedure with other facial surgery procedures for optimal results.

To best maintain your new look, you can speak with Dr. Mandraccia about sun protection and other lifestyle choices during your personal consultation.

If you are Fort Myers or Naples area resident and you think a facelift might be right for you, contact Dr. Robert Mandraccia M.D. at (855) 686-4747 today to schedule a personal consultation with our Fort Myers plastic surgeon.

Many Fort Myers women opt for breast augmentation procedures due to changes in the appearance of their chest after pregnancy. While breast augmentation can often correct these pregnancy-related changes, it is not a permanent solution, particularly if you intend to have more children.

If you have not ruled out future pregnancies but you wish to undergo breast augmentation, it's important to understand the full impact of doing so, including both dispelling any unwarranted concerns and being aware of potentially undesirable effects.

Some things to consider for women undergoing breast augmentation with the possibility of future pregnancies:

  • While the integrity of your breast implants will not be affected by pregnancy, the size and shape of your breasts will change, and you may need additional breast surgery.
  • Depending on the amount of stretching that occurs during your pregnancy, you may need a breast lift to maintain your results.

The good news is that with the right breast augmentation customizations, you should be able to breast feed normally without any substantial difficulties.

To avoid complications, Dr. Mandraccia may recommend:

  • Sub-muscular implant placement to prevent compression of milk ducts
  • Avoiding periareolar incisions that have the potential to reduce nipple sensitivity

If you plan on additional pregnancies but you still want to undergo breast augmentation beforehand, you will need to discuss this openly with Dr. Mandraccia to be sure the procedure is right for you and your body.

If you are a potentially a mother-to-be in the Fort Myers, Florida area and you think breast augmentation might be the right choice for you, please contact Dr. Robert V. Mandraccia, MD at (855) 686-4747 today.
