If for any reason you are unhappy with the size and shape of your breasts, it can cause self-consciousness and be a source of pain and frustration in your life. That is why so many women choose for Dr. Mandraccia to enhance their breasts through breast augmentation, also called mammoplasty. Some of the most common reasons Dr. Mandraccia patients in Naples / Fort Myers, Florida and the surrounding area elect to have breast augmentation include:
- Enhancing breasts they feel are too small
- Correcting a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy
- Balancing out a difference in breast size
- Reconstructing breasts following breast surgery or a mastectomy
The Breast Augmentation Procedure
Dr. Mandraccia can increase the volume of your natural breasts by placing a silicone or saline breast implant either directly under your breast tissue or beneath the pectoral muscle. The implants come in many shapes and sizes so you can achieve the level of fullness you desire. There are also several different incision locations that Dr. Mandraccia can use to insert the implants, including:
- The crease under the breast
- Around the areola (dark skin surrounding the nipple)
Dr. Mandraccia will help you decide the best method for you during your initial breast augmentation consultation.

Once the incision is made, Dr. Mandraccia gently lifts your breast tissue and skin to create a pocket where the implant will be positioned. After the implant is in place, he closes the incisions with sutures and skin adhesive or surgical tape. The whole breast augmentation procedure will take between one to two hours to complete.
